The bar

For beer-lovers, purists and the just plain nostalgic the White Lion serves a selection of real ales straight from cask to glass on our traditional stillage. Only a handful of pubs in East Anglia still do it this way: no gas, no pumps, just a cooling jacket to maintain optimum temperature. The original and best method to ensure a perfect pint. Our beers

Brewed just up the coast in Southwold, Adnams bitter (3.7%) is a local favorite, as is the locally brewed Victoria (3.6%) from Earl Soham. We also have regular guest ales including Wherry (3.8%) from Woodfordes in Norfolk, Gold (4.4%) from the Green Dragon microbrewery in Bungay and a good variety of others during the summer months. 

Alternatively we have local Aspall’s Draught Suffolk Cyder (5.5%), Meantime lager (4.4%) from Greenwich (BGBW brewer of the year 2008) and a wide range of bottled beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks
